Amazon Cooking Experience
Try local produce and learn how to cook some of the traditional meals from local people themselves. All this done in the setting of a beautiful lodge deep in the forest using freshly grown organic produce from our very own biogarden.
During this tour, you will stay one night in the Cock of the Rock Lodge in the Cloud Forest and the rest of the tour will be spent at the Manu Learning Centre in the Manu Biosphere Reserve.
We have twin or double shared rooms with en-suite private bathrooms and hot water.
Single rooms can also be booked but single supplement applies.
Meal arrangements are all taken in a communal dining area.
Communication is limited in Manu, there is wifi access between 7-9pm daily.
For this tour we require a minimum of 2 passengers.

Depart Cusco early and start the journey by road through the Andes and into the Cloud Forest, a unique environment that is truly breathtaking. Stop at Paucartambo and Acjanaco ranger station along the way to experience some local culture and witness the spectacular views. Here you will stay at the Cock of the Rock Lodge. Meals served will be Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
After a night in the cloud forest, head to the port town to Atalaya and board your motorized canoe to ride down the Madre de Dios river to the Manu Learning Centre. After lunch, explore the local forest trail system with our naturalist guides before spending the evening learning more about the jungle or simply relaxing, watching the beautiful sunset. Overnight at the Manu Learning Centre on a full board basis.
Spend the day exploring the Manu Learning Centre trails as well as spending time picking fresh produce to cook with at the lodge. Overnight at the Manu Learning Centre on a full board basis.
Today take a boat trip for two-hours to the hot springs of Aguas Calientes, the land of the native community of Shintuya. Take a dip in the hot springs and learn more about the indigenous people. Spot wildlife on the boat journey home and visit the orchid garden back at the Manu Learning Centre. On your return spend the evening cooking in the gardens of the lodge with local fresh produce. Overnight back at the Manu Learning Centre, full board.
Take the boat back to Atalaya after breakfast and enjoy the last noises and sights of the rainforest before reaching Cusco. You will be dropped off at your hotel by around 7pm, bringing the tour to an end but the memories of Manu lasting for a lifetime. No accommodation, breakfast included.
